Tuolumne County, California
Two crew members from the Groveland Hotshots disperse wood straw during Rim Fire suppression repair in Jones Meadow, located along Cherry Lake Road/Forest Route 1N07 near Groveland, California. Approximately 30 crew members from Groveland Hotshots and U.S. Forest Service Crew 41 dispersed approximately 400 bales of wood straw and constructed fencing around the approximate 5-acre meadow. Jones Meadow was bulldozed during the Rim Fire to create a safety zone for firefighters. Because bulldozers impacted the natural habitat, crews are working to repair the area to the greatest extent possible.
